How We Work
For the past roughly nine consecutive years, Dr. Santanu Banerjee has been visiting Manihara, Purulia, where the health centre is located as well as adjoining villages to carry on the mission of Kolkata Serving the God Foundation, that is, providing basic healthcare facilities at a negligible cost to more than 400 patients on the first Sunday of each month.
Services include:
1. Health Checkup
2. Routine Tests
3. Gynaecological Checkup and Awareness programmes for young teenage girls
The charges are hugely subsidized – 10 INR for health checkup and 20 INR for routine tests.
Investments for the above were made by Dr. Santanu Banerjee and his immediate family, his medico and non-medico friends, and well-wishers.
Among those who have selflessly associated with the cause, he would like to mention -
At no point of the journey, did Dr. Banerjee feel disillusioned about the journey he had undertaken.
Other than the core team comprising of his family members and a handful of friends, there were those who chose to associate and later disassociate with the cause owing to their personal commitments.
Till date, Kolkata Serving the God Foundation is far from being viable as skilled resources and investments remain a challenge.
The costs are formidable – apart from medicines, there is the investment of travelling up and down from Purulia that is nearly 300 kms away.
Yet, the motivation comes from the mission of ‘serving without agenda’ and the work of Serving the God Foundation carries on.
The milestones over the span of nine years have been several:
1. Construction of Building with an expansion to the first floor. This enables overnight accommodation for a small team whereby they reach the previous day and begin camp from an early hour.
2. Accurex (Portable Diagnostic Machine)
3. Two Technicians from Kolkata. A vital part of the team, they are professionally skilled to carry out tests.
4. Emarax (Portable and Faster Machine with advanced features with telemedicine interface)
5. Mobile Van for taking gynaecological patients for USG to Bankura town
6. Spandan (ECG machine with technologically-advanced features)
7. Diabetes Testing Machine

Due paperwork for certification of 80G and 12A (for Kolkata Serving the God Foundation) to exempt donations made from income tax.

Acquiring a Medical Van to transport patients to the nearest hospital.

Conducting blood tests by Haemurex - faster, ultralight, ultraportable medical equipment with an interface for telemedicine.

Inclusion of Women's Healthcare and Wellness to our services with Dr Mitali Mukherjee joining our team.

Manual production of 100% biodegradable sanitary napkins to support rural women's healthcare and hygiene.

Regular awareness programmes on women’s healthcare and wellness by Dr. Mitali Mukherjee.

Starting screening for Diabetic Retinopathy with modern, innovative device.

How We Work
Investments for equipment and gadgets for the achievements were made by Dr. Santanu Banerjee and his immediate family, his medico and non-medico friends, and well-wishers.
Among those who have selflessly associated with the cause, he would like to mention the following involved and dedicated individuals who have been consistently supporting the mission and work of Kolkata Serving the God Foundation: Mr. Sumit Bose IT professional, Dr Srabani Samanta,Paediatrician, Dr Sudeshna Roy, Gynaecologist, and Mrs Krishna Samanta, social worker.
Special mention should be made of Dr Subhendu Roy of Drs. Tribedi & Roy Diagnostic Laboratory who remains a well-wisher and earnest patron.
